Santa Maria da Feira: The winning idea for the ‘Acelera-te’ bootcamp revealed

Andrea Silva had the winning idea for the ‘Acelera-te’ bootcamp with "an original clothing and accessories brand that, using patchwork techniques, aims to develop creations that promote the reuse and recycling of textiles”.

The competition organized by Casa dos Choupos/ALPE featured nine business ideas proposed by 13 participants in the areas of pedestrian tourism, creative sewing, marketing of PPE and EPC, creative services (graphic design), massage and alternative therapies and the Fitconnect application, an idea that was transferred from Fábrica de Ideias

The municipality of Santa Maria da Feira and Casa dos Choupos/ALPE intend to reinforce social training and support for local entrepreneurship. 'Acelera-te' is operated by Casa dos Choupos, which is part of the TEAR plan – Time for Involvement and Network Action promoted by the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, framed in the Action Plan for Disadvantaged Communities and financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan of Portugal (PRR).

Direct speech

"10 years ago I discovered the world of sewing and started making basic creative sewing and patchwork pieces, which gradually became more challenging and that's how the business idea came about", says the creator. Her entrepreneurial and supportive spirit was decisive in winning and adds "reconciling the concepts of creative sewing, patchwork and upcycling allows me to create unique and personalized pieces and promote environmental sustainability, contributing to the reduction of textile waste” – Andrea Silva.
