Corticeira Amorim recognized as the most sustainable company in the world in the wine industry

Corticeira Amorim was recognized by "World Finance” magazine as the "Most Sustainable Company in the Wine Industry 2024", which evaluated the Portuguese holding's efforts to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) values.

These distinctions reinforce the company's commitment and responsibility to efficient resource management, sustainable consumption, circularity of processes, protection of ecosystems and development policies for our people”, highlights the president and CEO of Corticeira Amorim, António Rios de Amorim, cited in the same statement.

"Combined with the enormous technical and scientific advances boosted by Amorim Cork's investment in R&D+i, its products are today the maximum exponent of the integration between nature and technology, creating a business model where the circular economy is an integral part", adds the responsible.

The 2024 Sustainability Awards of the aforementioned publication, which cover 30 industries, have already been held for six editions.

"As a world leader in the production of corks for wine and spirits, Amorim Cork is a crucial element in maintaining the value chain that enables the entire sustainability narrative associated with cork oak forests. With 15 life cycle studies published, the highly beneficial contribution of these products is clearly demonstrated and quantified at a social, economic and environmental level; in this last chapter, it is worth highlighting cork's ability to retain significant amounts of CO2, which contributes in an important way to the decarbonization of the wine industry.
